“Life is delicate, live with intention and purpose.”
Dr. Angelica Neison has a focus on preventative medicine and believes in a whole health approach to medicine, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. Her interest in Family Medicine began in her third year of medical school. While working at the world’s largest medical center in Houston, she saw patients with multiple medical conditions, end-stage diseases and chronic ailments. Curious how she could stop or halt a disease before it was too far gone, Dr. Neison made a goal to focus on disease prevention rather than symptom management. She is determined to keep people living well and happy, and encourages creative empowerment to help patients explore their own journeys and opportunities.
As VEBA’s Co-Medical Director, Dr. Neison does just that. She helps to integrate medical education and disease prevention to optimize the wellness journey of VEBA Members and works closely with other VEBA Resource Center providers to ensure that each Member receives custom care that is uniquely centered around their specific needs.
Dr. Neison grew up in El Paso, TX, attended college and medical school in Texas and then did her family medicine residency in North Carolina. She holds a Board Certification in Family Medicine and a Board Certification in-training for Culinary Medicine. Dr. Neison is on the San Diego Public Health Advisory Council, as well as the Be Well committee at Sharp Rees-Stealy. When not “on the job”, Dr. Neison can be found on a digital detox in the mountains escaping with her family. Pre-covid, she was part of two local competition cooking clubs. What she values most is open-minded approaches to conscious living. She has lived in San Diego since 2011.
