Ingredients

  • WET INGREDIENTS AND SPICES:
  • 1/4 cup avocado oil or other neutral oil
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp blackstrap molasses
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp grated ginger root
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • DRY INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup nuts, coarsely chopped (pecans, hazelnuts, walnuts, and or almonds)
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 4 cups rolled oats

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 and line two baking sheets with tin foil or a silicone baking sheet.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the wet ingredients and spices.
  3. Add in the nuts, seeds, and oats and stir to coat them evenly with the wet ingredients.
  4. Split them onto the baking sheets and place the sheets into the oven.
  5. Cook for 12 minutes and then open the oven and stir the granola. Rotate the baking from top to bottom to ensure that the granola cooks evenly.
  6. Cook for another 8-10 minutes. Remove the granola from the oven. Give it a quick stir and then let it cool completely before transferring it into storage containers.
